Meeting planners often say that a successful meeting combines both business and pleasure. That philosophy is not new to the meetings coordinators and facilities on Amelia Island, FL. The island has been “doing meetings” for more than 450 years. Some things have changed: meetings participants are no longer conquerors or pirates; our facilities are much more luxurious than an old overturned boat or a tarp strung over a tree; presentation technology has expanded light years beyond the writing-in-the-sand method.

What hasn’t changed is the unique character of Amelia Island. Forests, beaches and Victorian era elegance all surround her meetings locations.

Amelia Island offers a combined 100,000 sq. ft. of meeting and conference facilities to accommodate groups of any size. The Amelia Island Plantation, The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Summer Beach Resort and many of the island's hotels and bed and breakfast inns all offer meeting and conference space. Full-sized business centers, spectacular ballrooms, and unique outdoor and ocean-side venues give executives and planning professionals ideal locations for the most productive and memorable planning retreats, annual meetings, and sales conferences.

Meeting planners also will appreciate Amelia Island for its diversity of activities and their proximity to meeting spaces. At just 13 miles long and two miles wide everything is nearby. Attendees are encouraged to visit the only town on the island, Fernandina Beach. Once a bustling seaport, it is now the cultural and dining center of the island. Additional diversions include exploring Fernandina Beach by horse-drawn carriage, horseback rides on the beach, private sunset sails on a three-masted schooner, kayaking in ancient salt marshes, or golf and tennis on championship - caliber golf courses and tennis courts.
