The park is a 1,086 acre outpost of pristine beaches and dunes, nature trails, ponds and salt marshes and the island's only campgrounds. Fort Clinch's fishing pier extends 1,500 feet into Cumberland Sound.

Journey Back to 1864

One weekend per month, park rangers dress in either Confederate or Union uniforms and re-enact the daily life of Civil War-era soldiers. Activities include cooking, infantry demonstrations, marching and sentry duty.

These skilled reenactors make visitors believe the Civil War is still raging, experiencing how soldiers lived in 1864.
