| 45th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival Held in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, the 45th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival will feature an array of activities for adults and children. The Shrimp Festival will dish out boatloads of fresh seafood and shrimp dishes, as local volunteer organizations prepare and serve an astounding assortment of menu items, including shrimp pie, shrimp twisters, crawfish, Cajun shrimp etouffee, fried shrimp and shrimp jambalaya. Other items such as hamburgers, french fries and corn dogs are available. The Fine Arts and Crafts show will feature works from more than 300 award-winning artists and craftspeople, including jewelry, acrylics, photography, pottery and much more. Families will enjoy the "Little Pirate" costume contest, pre-festival Pirate Parade, and the Family Fun Zone, which features performances by local dance schools and entertainment for all ages. | Fort Clinch WWII Commemoration Fort Clinch State Park will hold a Memorial Weekend program in honor of the men and women who served in World War II. Visitors can explore military displays, view memorabilia, and learn about the uniforms, weapons, vehicles, and lifestyle of those who were part of the war during the 1940's.
